Association of glutathione s-transferase pi (GSTP1) gene polymorphism in unexplained infertile women

چکیده
15–20 million people in India are affected by infertility.Among them, 34% of the couples shown to have unexplained infertility (UEI). Both genetic and environmental factors influence UEI. Data from various studies show that oxidative stress plays an important role infertility. The genes phase II detoxification enzyme, Glutathione s-transferase family upregulated humans as a defense mechanism opposing adverse effects play during pregnancy. Since all investigations for work-up normal evaluating causes UEI will impact on treatment protocol. In this study association between GSTP1 variations discussed. To compare polymorphism women with control group. : This is case 70 ovulatory who conceived within 12 months contraceptive free intercourse, no history miscarriage were recruited group All participants included 28 38 years age. studied using real-time PCR Light Cycler instrument (Roche Applied Science). variant allele frequencies 0.39 0.41for cases respectively. results indicate polymorphisms did not significant infertile

Glutathione S-transferase M1 gene polymorphism in Thai nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a serious health problem in Thailand. It is caused by the combined effects of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), carcinogens and genetic susceptibility. The glutathione S-transferase M1 gene (GSTM1) encodes a phase II enzyme responsible for detoxifying carcinogenic electrophiles. Polymorphic null forms of the gene GSTM1 lack enzyme activity and have been associated with...
متن کاملGlutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) polymorphism in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
BACKGROUND Enzymes that contribute to the local detoxification in alveoli and bronchioles have an important role in the defence mechanism against tobacco smoke. It has been suggested that genetic susceptibility to smoking injury may confer a risk for the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The polymorphisms in glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1), a xenobiotic metabolis...
متن کاملGenetic polymorphism of the glutathione-S-transferase P1 gene (GSTP1) and susceptibility to prostate cancer in the Kashmiri population.
Glutathione-S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) is a critical enzyme of the phase II detoxification pathway. One of the common functional polymorphisms of GSTP1 is A→G at nucleotide 313, which results in an amino acid substitution (Ile105Val) at the substrate binding site of GSTP1 and reduces catalytic activity of GSTP1. To investigate the GSTP1 Ile105Val genotype frequency in prostate cancer cases i...
متن کاملLack of association of glutathione S-transferase M3 gene polymorphism with the susceptibility of lung cancer.
OBJECTIVE The conclusions of published reports on the relationship between the glutathione S-transferase M3 (GSTM3) A/B gene polymorphism and the risk of lung cancer are still debated. This meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the association between GSTM3 and the risk of lung cancer. METHODS Association investigations were identified from PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library, and eligible...
متن کاملRoles of Glutathione-s-transferase P1 (gstp1) Gene, in Prostate Cancer Detection
Prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer related death in most developed countries, and is the most common malignancy in males. Early detection of prostate cancer, multiple biopsies, and improved treatment currently represent the most critical strategies to decrease prostate cancer mortality. The development of prostate cancer is a multi-step process through a series of morphologically di...
